Google is making Gemini AI a key part of Workspace, now included in Business, Enterprise, and Frontline plans at no extra cost. Starting in Q4, the standalone Gemini app (gemini.google.com) will be integrated as standard into Workspace, replacing the need for a separate add-on. This change opens up AI-driven tools like email drafting, data analysis, and document creation to millions of new users, all within Google’s productivity suite.

Security and privacy

Google emphasizes security and privacy as central to its AI integration. All Gemini-powered functions in Workspace comply with industry-standard certifications such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.

Importantly, Google makes it clear that customer data from Workspace is not used to train Gemini’s AI models, ensuring that sensitive information remains private and secure. Through the admin console, organizations can manage how Gemini handles user data, including prompts and responses.

Google is also rolling out a security advisor aimed at simplifying security for small and midsize businesses. It offers personalized insights and recommendations to strengthen Workspace security. IT admins will receive actionable guidance directly via email, helping them enhance threat defenses, protect accounts, and safeguard data.
