Revolgy gave Thiss, a company that makes digital IDs safe, tailored training on Google Workspace security. The training covered both basic and advanced tools to help them continuously protect their data.
What was the goal?
As Thiss works with secure digital identities, they know how important good security is. They already had a strong understanding of security, but they wanted to learn all the latest tools and features in Google Workspace to keep their own information even safer and more private.
Revolgy offers a set of Google Workspace training options that customers can choose from. We have developed our training especially for customers looking to improve their security posture.
Thiss agreed on a training plan that covered everything their IT and security teams wanted to learn. The actual training consisted of three parts: basic and advanced admin training delivered to a group of participants, and security training delivered to the security manager across four sessions.
“In this digital age, where data is the new currency, security is no longer just a necessity, but the very foundation of trust. And it is in this context that collaboration with experts, such as Revolgy, proves crucial for protecting sensitive information. The collaboration was excellent, with the team of experts always well-prepared for any inquisitive questions.” — David Kalus, COO, Thiss
Revolgy’s security training for Google Workspace
Revolgy provided a training program about Google Workspace security, split into several parts. The training covered both basic and more advanced topics for administrators, with a strong focus on security.
Key topics included:
- Advanced Device Management: How to manage and secure the devices that access Google Workspace. This part covered advanced ways to manage mobile devices (Advanced MDM). The training also explained how to use detailed reports and logs for devices.
- Keeping data safe: A large part of the training focused on protecting data and following rules. This included using Google Vault to manage information and find data when needed. The participants also learned how to control file sharing in Google Chat and set up automatic rules.
- Stopping Data Loss (DLP) and Context-Aware Access (CAA): This section covered how to use DLP to prevent sensitive information from leaving the company and how to use CAA to control who can access what.
- Security Center and Investigation Tool: Administrators learned how to use the Google Workspace Security Center to see security issues and the investigation tool to look into and fix problems.
- Data location and seeing who accessed what: The training explained where Google stores data and how to use logs to see who has accessed information.
- More security features: The training also covered advanced topics like Cloud Identity Premium, secure email (S/MIME and TLS enforcement), email security hardening features (MTA-STS and BIMI), data encryption (Client–side Encryption; CSE), and Gemini’s AI classification security feature.
“Going into the training, the Thiss team already had a good understanding of Google Workspace security, how to best set it up and manage it. Because of this, they asked great questions and we had insightful discussions during the training that allowed us to go deep into the topic.” — Jan Z., Enterprise Infrastructure & Security Solutions Manager, Revolgy
Overall, the training helped Thiss’s team get even better at using Google Workspace security, showing them the newest features and how to best protect their data, which they will use in improving their overall security posture as well as in implementing advances in their ISO 27001 security controls.
